Almond Panna Cotta with Amaretto Soaked Cherries

I rate this dessert an A+. The panna cotta was the smoothest I've ever tasted. It was flavored with almond and vanilla extracts. The cherries were fresh from the store and soaked in amaretto liquer. The dessert was garnished with candied slivered almonds. I wish restaurant desserts were this good.

Biscuit Sandwich Cookies

Dagan chose to make biscuit sandwich cookies from the Martha Stewart Cookies book. These cookies were very buttery and brushed with egg yolks and heavy cream to give them their golden color on the top. The centres are a rich dark chocolate ganache.

Stained Glass Cookies

Sage chose these stained glass cookies from the Martha Stewart Cookies book. The recipe showed tree shapes but since its not close to Christmas, we opted for stars, hearts, flowers and circles. We used our linzer cookie cutters to cut the small shapes out of the centres. Crushed jolly rancher candies were melted in the centre of each cookie.

Lemon Pudding with Blackberry Whipped Cream

This pudding was deliciously creamy and tart. The blackberries gave it a fresh and juicy element and the blackberry whipped cream added a light and fluffiness to the mix. All it was missing was some crunch. Maybe next time some candied nuts or granola. It could be served as a parfait.

Flaky Biscuits

These biscuits are made with butter. The secret is to cut the butter up into tiny pieces and then freeze them. Cold butter makes for very flaky biscuits. Lots of layers! These were so good straight out of the oven but not as good reheated the next day. We ate them with strawberry jam, butter, honey and powdered sugar. The boys liked them dusted with powdered sugar best.

Wookie Cookies

We made these cookies to celebrate May the 4th Be With You. The recipe is from Nerdy Nummies. These are oatmeal cookies with toffee bits in them. They are decorated with white chocolate melts and melted chocolate chips.
