Strawberry and Milk Jello Hearts

I saw some cute jello heart squares on a blog and thought I would make my own version. It looked easy. All you do is make the strawberry jello, cut hearts out of it, then make the milk jello and pour it around the strawberry hearts. Unfortunately when I put my heart jello into the glass pan, I poured the milk layer, and they all fell over and floated. So I used the remainder of the milk layer in a smaller pan then cut out large hearts and cut small hearts out of the middle. The red hearts were way too tall for the white layer so I had to cut them in half. Then I placed them in the center. All in all, the  boys loved them. Happy Valentine's Day!

Chocolate Fondue

I found this small Bella chocolate fondue pot at the Wildlife Thrift Store for ten bucks. Instead of buying chocolate for the boys this year, I bought a block of Callebaut dark chocolate and some berries and we had our own fondue party. Strangely enough they got tired of all the sweet at the end and just went for the fruits instead. Half a block of chocolate heated with a little warm soy milk and melted butter made a smooth chocolate sauce. It was a yummy afternoon treat.

Raspberry Heart Muffins

For Valentine's Day breakfast I made these raspberry muffins in our silicone heart pan.

Chocolate Mini Donuts

Made these to celebrate the New Year. The boys got quite creative with theirs.

Chocolate Crepes

I love to make crepes on the weekends. They are so easy and delicious. I put out a variety of toppings so everyone can make theirs the way they like it. This time I made chocolate crepes by adding some cocoa powder to the batter. For toppings we had chopped walnuts, melted chocolate and powdered sugar.

Healthy Treats

Chocolate Zucchini Banana Muffins

Breakfast Cookies

One way to get kids to eat their veggies is to sneak it in their breakfast. The boys gobbled up zucchini in these muffins. I pureed the bananas because Dagan doesn't like mushy chunks in it. I made three batches and froze half of them. Makes for a quick and easy breakfast any day of the week.

These cookies are made with whole wheat flour, oatmeal,  applesauce and cranberries. These cookies are egg and dairy free due to my cousin's allergies. The texture was soft and chewy and tasted similar to muffins.
